With the New Year here, we often want to set resolutions or goals with the intention of improving ourselves or our lives. How often though, do we set resolutions only to run out of steam before January is even over? Here are some things to remember when setting resolutions to help ensure success.

Set realistic goals and plan ahead. 
Setting too lofty of a goal is only setting yourself up for failure. Make sure your goals are specific and attainable. Think about what your challenges are going to be and how to overcome them so you’re not sidelined when they arise.

Find a friend or family member to help hold you accountable. 
Sharing your goals maybe seem daunting, but it’s important to have support and motivation from your family or social circle.

There’s no such thing as too small of a goal. 
Setting goals is a very personal experience. Don’t compare your goals to those of others, if it’s something that’s important to you, and you feel will make a difference in your life, it’s worth pursuing.

Celebrate your achievements. 
Make sure to reward yourself for your hard work. Set milestones for yourself and celebrate when you achieve them, it will give you something to look forward to!
