Dr. Barbopoulos is a Winnipeg-based clinical psychologist licensed in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta Canada. Her graduate education was obtained at Boston University and University of Manitoba. Since graduating, Dr Barbopoulos has provided psychological assessment and treatment for over 10 years in hospital, community, and forensic settings. She has also taught psychology courses at various institutions, and presented her research at national and international conferences. In her current position as Chief Psychologist with Correctional Services of Canada, Dr. Barbopoulos provides clinical and administrative supervision to other psychologists. In her private clinical practice she provides psychological assessment and treatment. She treats clients either in-person at her Winnipeg office or through E-Therapy (i.e., on-line therapy). Whether client challenges are related to stress, depression, anxiety, or interpersonal relationships, Dr. Barbopoulos approaches therapy with empathy and understanding. She bases her treatment style primarily on a cognitive-behavioral orientation and the assumption that people have the potential to change problematic patterns of behaviour and live emotionally and physically healthy lives.
